Linda Edwards Obituary, Death; – A woman from Houston has been charged with murder following the alleged killing of another woman who was gathering cans at an apartment complex.
According to the Houston police, Amber McNulty, aged 43, was charged with murder in connection with the death of Linda Edwards, aged 75, on Thursday.
Previously, she had been charged with being a felon in possession of a weapon on July 15, the same day as the shooting.
She is currently in jail.
The shooting took place at an apartment complex located in the 4000 block of Griggs Road at approximately 11:15 a.m. on July 15.
As reported by the police, Edwards was recognized for her habit of collecting cans and was allegedly picking up cans that a resident had left on an apartment porch.
McNulty, a resident of the apartment, reportedly observed the woman, donned a ballistic vest, and fired at Edwards through a window. Edwards sustained multiple gunshot wounds and succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
According to the police, McNulty claimed that “she felt she was in danger and was attempting to protect herself.”
McNulty was apprehended and subsequently charged.
