Elizabeth Weber,Troy Balcer Obituary, Death; – A man and a woman have lost their lives following an apparent murder-suicide incident in Gaines Township on Monday. The identities of the deceased have just been released by the Kent County Sheriff’s Office.
According to investigators, Elizabeth Weber, aged 43, and her boyfriend, Troy Balcer, aged 52, were the victims of the shooting. Both resided in Gaines Township.
The incident occurred shortly after 1 p.m. in the 6700 block of Madison Avenue, located just north of 68th Avenue, as reported by the sheriff’s office.
A 911 call was made to report a domestic disturbance, which subsequently escalated to gunfire, according to authorities. The caller informed dispatchers that they had heard the shots.
Upon the arrival of first responders at the residence, they discovered two deceased individuals inside: Weber and Balcer. Investigators suspect that an argument took place between Weber and Balcer prior to the shooting. They believe that Balcer fatally shot Weber before taking his own life.
Police report that Weber sustained “multiple” gunshot wounds, while Balcer had one.
Sgt. Scott Dietrich from the sheriff’s office stated, “We encourage anyone who reaches a point where they need assistance or feel the need to seek help to utilize domestic resources.
