Jerkera Battle Obituary, Death;- Officials have identified the woman who was fatally shot Tuesday morning in an apartment in Allentown.
Jerkera Battle, 22, was killed by a gunshot wound to the head, and the manner of death is homicide, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said in a news release.
Authorities said Battle was fatally shot by her ex-boyfriend Adam Makowka about 4:15 a.m. in an apartment in the 700 block of Turner Street. Makowka entered the apartment through the fire escape, shot Battle in a hallway, then fired into a bedroom occupied by her son and another man, neither of whom were injured.
Makowka fled the scene, and was found about two hours later in his car at a park in Lansdowne, Delaware County, court documents state.
He remains charged with homicide, attempted homicide and two counts of aggravated assault. He was sent to Lehigh County Jail without bail.
Allentown police, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s office and the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force are investigating.
