Andres Valdes Obituary, Death;  –Numerous arrests have been executed in an 18-year-old murder case that had previously gone cold due to insufficient leads.

On Monday, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department revealed that five individuals had been identified and apprehended in relation to the June 13, 2007, murder of Andres Valdes in Mead Valley.

The 51-year-old Valdes was shot multiple times at a residence located on the 19000 block of Mariposa Avenue in the community situated in western Riverside County.

On that particular night, deputies from the Sheriff’s Department’s station in Perris responded to the residence following reports of gunfire during a suspected home invasion robbery.

Upon arrival, deputies found Valdes at the scene, and he was declared dead by paramedics. Additional victims were discovered at the residence, including several who had been assaulted and sustained minor injuries.

Witnesses informed investigators that a group of masked individuals entered the property with the intent to commit robbery. Valdes engaged in a struggle with the attackers, which resulted in at least one individual fatally shooting him.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Central Homicide Unit assumed control of the investigation; however, the case eventually went cold due to a lack of leads or evidence.

Earlier this year, a new team of investigators reviewed the case and made the decision to reopen it.

“In recent months, multiple suspects have been identified as being involved in the murder and robbery,” stated the Sheriff’s Department in a news release.

Ultimately, five individuals were arrested, including two who reside a short distance from the location where Valdes was murdered.

The five suspects have been identified as Kenneth Tucker, 37, of Riverside; Deshawn Hill, 36, of Riverside; Dennis Haynes, 37, of Phoenix; Kenneth Haynes, 37, of Phoenix; and Keith Crutchfield, 37, of Killeen, Texas.

Hill was taken into custody on July 5 in Riverside and was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside, while Tucker was arrested the following day in Riverside and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta.
The other three were apprehended between July 14 and
