Dejay Handy Obituary, Death;- Authorities have identified the person killed in a weekend shooting at the Lake Charles Seawall.
Around 6 a.m. July 20, Lake Charles police found Trakeyvan Dejay Handy, 26, dead from a gunshot wound at the Lake Charles Event Center, LCPD Deputy Chief Kevin Kirkum said.
While the investigation remains in its early stages, LCPD Chief Shawn Caldwell said there is no evidence indicating a threat to the public.
Caldwell said police believe that the shooting is related to an argument between a small group of people.“We do believe there are several people who witnessed what occurred on the Seawall and we are asking you to come forward. Your assistance could mean closure for the family of Mr. Handy,” Caldwell said.
