Kevin DeJesus,Aidan Moreno Obituary, Death; – Authorities have confirmed the identities of the two teenagers who lost their lives early Sunday in a rollover accident in downtown Cleveland.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner reported that Kevin DeJesus and Aidan Moreno succumbed to injuries sustained in the incident.
Both individuals were 18 years old and hailed from Painesville. Additionally, a third individual, a 17-year-old male, sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for medical care. Law enforcement has not provided any updates regarding his condition.
Cleveland police indicated that officers were dispatched at approximately 1:15 a.m. to the northbound lanes of I-77 in response to a single-vehicle accident. Upon arrival, officers discovered the vehicle had crashed off an embankment at the junction of I-90 East, East 9th Street, and Ontario Street. As per police reports, the vehicle was traveling northbound on I-71 at a high speed and overtaking other vehicles on the right.
When the vehicle approached the curve leading to I-90 East, authorities stated that the driver lost control, veering off the roadway and rolling over multiple times. All three occupants were ejected from the vehicle during the incident, according to police. Authorities noted that the crash, in which speed is believed to be a contributing factor, is still under investigation.
