Anthony Barrera,Alek Pacheco Obituary, Death; – The San Marcos Police Department is seeking an additional suspect and a witness regarding a shooting incident in Downtown San Marcos that resulted in the deaths of two individuals on Saturday.

Authorities are attempting to locate 19-year-old Avery Saul Bowman, along with a witness believed to have recorded the event.

As stated in a press conference held on Sunday, police received a call at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, reporting a stabbing incident near a downtown bar. Upon arrival, officials discovered that two individuals had been shot in the head with a handgun.

The first victim, identified as 24-year-old Anthony Barrera, was declared dead at the scene. The second victim, 20-year-old Alek Pacheco, was transported to Christus Santa Rosa in San Marcos, where he was pronounced dead around 2:15 a.m.
A third victim sustained a gunshot wound to the foot after being grazed and was treated at a hospital before being discharged.

Officials reported that Barrera was in a relationship with a woman who was still married, and her husband confronted Barrera inside the bar. The altercation escalated outside onto the sidewalk at the intersection of East San Antonio and Guadalupe streets. The identity of the woman’s husband remains undisclosed, and he has not been charged with any offense.
Another individual approached Barrera and forcibly removed a necklace from him, prompting Barrera to engage in a fight with this person, thereby ceasing his confrontation with the woman’s husband. This individual has been identified, and a capital murder warrant for his arrest has been issued.

During the ongoing altercation, approximately eight rounds were fired from the handgun, hitting the victims. Four individuals were apprehended several blocks away after many attendees fled the scene.

One of the suspects, 19-year-old Jermiah Jayden Tobias, has been arrested on two counts of capital murder and one count of aggravated assault. His bail is set at $1,650,000.

Furthermore, a 16-year-old male was arrested on Saturday night in connection with a prior aggravated robbery incident.
