Todd Michael Nelson Obituary, Death; – The Greenville County Coroner’s Office and troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating a deadly crash.
Officials said the crash happened around 7:16 p.m. on Saturday on West Georgia Road at Reedy Fork Road. Troopers said it involved a 2004 Toyota minivan and a 2006 Honda motorcycle.
Highway patrol said the minivan was driving south on West Georgia Road while the motorcycle was driving north. Troopers said both vehicles struck each other head-on in the roadway. Troopers said the minivan’s driver was not injured, but the motorcyclist died at the scene.
The coroner identified the motorcyclist as Todd Michael Nelson, 56, of Simpsonville. The coroner said Nelson’s cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries and ruled the manner of death as accidental.
An external examination is scheduled for Monday.
