Kirwin Hinds Obituary, Death;- A suspect faces accusations of shooting a man in the head during a confrontation on Saturday morning at a DeKalb County apartment complex, as stated in the arrest warrants.
Two individuals were apprehended in connection with the incident, which took place at the Haven on Peachwood Apartments located on Peachwood Circle.
The victim has been identified as Kirwin Hinds, aged 47. As per the arrest warrants, 33-year-old Otis Blakes is charged with malice murder for fatally shooting Hinds in the head while he was engaged in a fight with another individual. That third individual has been charged with simple battery.
According to the arrest warrants, the altercation began when the third individual “did intentionally make contact of an insulting and provoking nature… by shoving the victim.”
The warrants do not provide details regarding what may have led to the fight. It remains uncertain whether further charges will be filed.
