Amber Laflora Obituary, Death; – The individual who fell victim to a fatal shooting in a parking lot has been identified as a mother from Hawthorne, as confirmed by officials to KTLA on Saturday morning.
Amber Laflora, aged 37, was tragically shot early on Friday morning, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.
While officials have not disclosed specific details regarding Laflora’s family, remarks from friends on her social media suggest that she may have been a mother of six. KTLA is currently working to verify this information independently.
The mother was fatally shot following an alleged confrontation with another woman outside the VIP Sports Bar, where Laflora’s social media posts indicate she intended to celebrate her upcoming birthday in August. Additional social media stories depicted Laflora enjoying karaoke at the bar prior to the outbreak of violence.
Initial reports indicate that an argument began inside the bar, after which Laflora exited to the parking lot and was seated in a vehicle when another confrontation occurred between her and the suspect, leading to gunfire.
Unverified reports from the stringer service TNLA state that, according to a witness, Laflora was observed being “forcibly dragged” from a vehicle and shot multiple times in the abdomen. Officials have not confirmed or commented on this account.
The incident took place around 1:50 a.m., as reported by the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, in the 11000 block of South Inglewood Avenue.
Deputies and Hawthorne police responded to reports of a shooting death outside the sports bar located within a shopping center, discovering Laflora suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot, where she was subsequently pronounced dead by paramedics.
As of Saturday morning, no suspects have been arrested or publicly identified. An LASD spokesperson indicated that the suspect, an adult female, fled the scene in a silver luxury vehicle.
“We are requesting assistance from the public as we are aware that there were at least 40-50 individuals present in this parking lot,” stated Lt. Steve De Jong.
Footage from TNLA revealed a significant law enforcement presence in the area.
