Jianzhong Tan Obituary, Death; – A man from Chicago has been named as the individual who lost his life in a single-vehicle accident on I-94 near Northbrook earlier this week.
The Illinois State Police, along with the Northbrook Fire Department, responded at approximately 10:42 a.m. on Wednesday to the northbound lanes of I-94, just north of Dundee Road, following reports of a crash involving multiple injuries.
Emergency responders discovered a Toyota Sienna minivan that had sustained considerable damage within a construction zone. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as 60-year-old Jianzhong Tan, was transported to Endeavor Health Highland Park Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries in the emergency room.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office performed an autopsy on Thursday, concluding that Tan’s death was due to blunt force injuries incurred during the crash. Authorities have not disclosed the cause of the accident. The Illinois State Police are continuing their investigation into the crash.
