Cleveland Sinclair Davis Obituary, Death; North Carolina man charged in June 28 homicide

Cleveland Sinclair Davis Obituary, Death; – A man from North Carolina was fatally shot during a late-night incident in Salisbury, and nearly three weeks later, the Salisbury police have apprehended an individual in relation to his death.

Shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, Salisbury police responded to reports of gunfire in the 700 block of East Liberty Street. Upon their arrival, officers discovered 45-year-old Cleveland Sinclair Davis lying unresponsive in the street, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Davis was transported to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day.

The Criminal Investigation Division of the Salisbury Police Department, in collaboration with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, initiated a homicide inquiry. In the weeks that followed, detectives collected evidence and identified a suspect.

On Tuesday, law enforcement officials arrested 47-year-old Jamel Lee Station in connection with the shooting. He has been charged with murder and is currently being held without bond at the Rowan County Detention Center.

The Salisbury Police Department expressed their condolences to Davis’ family and stated that the investigation is still ongoing.
