Travis Hamilton,Kathleen Hamilton Obituary, Death; – On June 23, law enforcement performed a welfare check on two Boise residents. Upon arrival, authorities found two individuals dead. It was later determined to be a mother and her son.

The Ada County Coroner on Tuesday identified the individuals as 51-year-old Travis Hamilton and 80-year-old Kathleen Hamilton.

Travis Hamilton died due to a gunshot wound to the head and was found dead at the scene, according to the coroner. Kathleen Hamilton reportedly died from gunshot wounds to the head and chest. The coroner said Travis died by suicide, while Kathleen’s manner of death was listed as homicide.

As previously reported by KTVB, deputies went to a home on the 6000 block of South Brian Way in east Boise around 4 p.m. Monday, June 23, after receiving a request for a welfare check. Deputies found two people dead – one man and one woman – upon arrival, according to a news release.

After deputies were able to investigate further, detectives determined that the male subject had shot the female before taking his own life, the sheriff’s office said. An investigation is ongoing, being performed by the Ada County Sheriff’s Office. More information may be released at a later date, as noted by the Ada County Coroner’s Office.
