Cary Lee Obituary, Death; – Police identified the victim of a hit-and-run crash Saturday as 41-year-old Cary Lee South of Wichita, police said. Officers were called at 12:46 a.m. to a crash at Kellogg and Tyler.
They found South lying on the eastbound on-ramp to Kellogg from Tyler, Wichita police spokesperson Brad Wright said. South had serious head injuries and died at the scene, Wright added. It is unclear if South was on foot, a bicycle or in a vehicle.
Police said it is under investigation. “Through preliminary investigations, it is believed that the 41-year-old male was struck by a vehicle, which fled from the scene,” a WPD news release said. Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to call detectives at 316-350-3672 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
