Jerome Bowens Obituary, Death; A tragic accident on Friday night claimed the life of a motorcyclist in Gloversville. At approximately 9:28 PM, police responded to a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV at the intersection of Broad Street and Fifth Street.
The motorcyclist, identified as 30-year-old Jerome Bowens from the Town of Johnstown, was found unconscious at the scene. Despite efforts by the Gloversville Fire Department and Lake Valley EMS, Bowens was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the SUV was unharmed and has been cooperating with law enforcement. According to a preliminary investigation, the SUV was traveling north on Broad Street and was making a left turn onto Fifth Street when Bowens attempted to pass a vehicle behind the SUV and then tried to pass the SUV itself. Bowens collided with the rear driver’s side of the SUV as it turned.
