Nehemiah McMillon Obituary, Death; – A 12-year-old was shot and killed in Winton Hills on July 13 during a double shooting, according to officials.
Nehemiah McMillon was discovered with gunshot wounds in a vehicle located on the 4800 block of Este Avenue shortly after 11 p.m. following officers’ response to reports of gunfire, as stated by Cincinnati police and the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office.
Limited information has been disclosed regarding the circumstances leading to the violence; however, Sgt. Darryl Johnson indicated that he does not consider this incident to be an accidental shooting.
A second juvenile sustained a graze wound from a bullet during the same incident and subsequently sought treatment at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, as reported by the police.
The homicide on Sunday contributes to an increase in shootings within the Winton Hills area. This year, there have been 18 individuals shot in that neighborhood, compared to 11 during the same timeframe last year.
In Cincinnati, 22 youths under the age of 18 have been shot this year, with four of those juveniles succumbing to their injuries. At this time last year, 19 juveniles had been shot, resulting in two fatalities.
