Laren Dickens,Ryo Steele Obituary, Death; – A man and a woman were found dead after authorities responded to a shooting call early Sunday morning in Rocky Mount, police said.
According to the Rocky Mount Police Department, officers responded to a shooting just before 3 a.m. at 800 East Virginia Street at Martin Luther King Park. Upon arrival, officers said they found two people with gunshot wounds.
“Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, both were pronounced deceased on scene,” officers said in a news release. La’ren Dickens, 20, and Ryo Steele, 19, were identified by police as the two people who died.
The double killing comes as two other Rocky Mount shootings were reported.
One happened at Buffalo Wild Wings outside Golden East Crossing mall Saturday night and another shooting happened at 1350 West Raleigh Boulevard less than five minutes after the double homicide, police said.
Officers said all incidents appear to be three separate shootings. The double homicide investigation is still active, and police have yet to say if anyone is in custody.
