Blake Ackerman Obituary, Death; – A 27-year-old man who lost his life in a hit-and-run accident in West Hollywood was identified on Saturday.
The victim, recognized by the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s office as Blake Ackerman, was hit by an older-model, white BMW sedan around 9:45 p.m. on Thursday at the intersection of Fountain Avenue and Gardner Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Preliminary reports indicate that Ackerman, who was riding a bicycle, was traveling west on Fountain when he was struck by the vehicle, which was also moving in the same direction.
The BMW, believed to have a damaged windshield on the passenger side due to the incident, failed to stop. Ackerman was transported to a hospital, where he was declared dead.
It remains unclear whether alcohol and/or drugs contributed to the incident.
