Eli Tanner Obituary, Death; – A tragic accident claimed the life of a 15-year-old driver when a side-by-side utility terrain vehicle (UTV) rolled over near 20940 ECR 100 North on Thursday.
The Coles County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at approximately 2:57 p.m., where the young driver, identified as Eli Tanner, was pronounced dead.
The Coles County Coroner reported that the cause of death was blunt force trauma. Authorities revealed that Tanner was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, which resulted in him being ejected from the vehicle before it rolled on top of him.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation, and further details have not been released.
