David Greeson,Charles S Clinard Obituary, Death; – Two individuals have lost their lives following a series of collisions in Coles County on Thursday evening.

The event occurred at the intersection of Route 16 and Lerna Road in Mattoon.

A vehicle collided with a semi-truck near the entrance of the Coles County Memorial Airport. The car’s driver, 84-year-old David Greeson from Neoga, was killed in the incident.

Subsequently, the Coles County Sheriff’s Office reported that a pickup truck failed to stop at a traffic signal and crashed into an IDOT truck that was obstructing the scene shortly before 9 p.m.

The fuel tank of the IDOT truck ruptured, igniting a fire. The driver of the pickup, 61-year-old Charles S. Clinard from Mattoon, was declared dead at the scene.

The drivers of the IDOT truck sustained no injuries.
