A Tarion Key Won De Shawn Spates Obituary, Death; – A 15-year-old has been charged in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in Waterloo during the Fourth of July holiday weekend. At around 10:56 p.m. on Sunday, both Waterloo Police and Fire departments responded to a report of a shooting in the 1600 block of Mulberry Street.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a female victim who had sustained a gunshot wound. While emergency personnel were attending to her, they were directed to the 1700 block of Mulberry Street, where they found a male victim who had also been shot.
The male victim, later identified as 20-year-old A’ Tarion Key ‘Won De ‘Shawn Spates, succumbed to his injuries. The female victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening.
On Wednesday, authorities arrested and charged 15-year-old Kam’Ron Antonio Tauheed Hampton with willful injury causing serious injury, going armed with intent, use of a dangerous weapon in the commission of a crime, and intimidation with a dangerous weapon.
Captain Jason Feaker of the Waterloo Police Department informed TV9 that Hampton is charged with allegedly firing the shot that injured the female victim. The investigation into the individual responsible for the shooting death of Spates remains ongoing.
