Christopher Lee Bowman,Ellen Dilling Jones Obituary, Death; – Deputies have confirmed that a murder-suicide incident occurred after a man and a woman were discovered deceased outside a residence in Jackson County, North Carolina.
At approximately 1 p.m. on July 3, deputies from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a shooting at a home located on Broom Road in Tuckasegee. Upon their arrival, they found a man and a woman lying outside the residence, with a firearm situated nearby.
Detectives were summoned to the scene to conduct an investigation and quickly ascertained that there was no ongoing threat to the public. The victims were identified as 60-year-old Christopher Lee Bowman and 71-year-old Ellen Dilling Jones.
On Wednesday, July 9, detectives concluded that Bowman had fatally shot Jones before subsequently taking his own life. Authorities have stated that the motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
