Jhonny Lajoie Obituary, Death; – A man has been arrested on a murder charge over a year after a fatal shooting in Taunton, Massachusetts, prosecutors said Wednesday.
The body of Jhonny Lajoie, 32, was found in a furnished shed at a home on Highland Street on May 4, 2024, the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office said at the time. Police tape blocked off the home amid an investigation that took much of the day.
Manny Pina, of Taunton, has since been taken into custody on charges of murder and unlawful carrying of a firearm, prosecutors said Wednesday, though they didn’t specify when or where.
Pina was due in Taunton District Court about 2 p.m. to face the charges. It wasn’t immediately clear if he had an attorney. Neighbors were shocked to see the heavy police presence, saying at the time they’d never witnessed anything like the police investigation.
