Bogdana Mygal Obituary, Death; – Authorities have identified a 33-year-old woman who was killed when a Porsche ran a stop sign and collided with another vehicle in suburban Wadsworth.
As reported by the Lake County Coroner’s office, the victim has been identified as Bogdana Mygal, a 33-year-old resident of Des Plaines, who lost her life in the multi-vehicle accident that occurred on Saturday night.
Initially, she had been reported as a resident of Niles, but this information was corrected on Monday. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene of a three-vehicle collision near the intersection of West Russell Road and Frontage Road at approximately 10:15 p.m. on Saturday.
It is believed that the driver of a 2020 Porsche Macan, a 58-year-old resident of Addison, was traveling westbound on Russell Road at a high speed and failed to stop at the stop sign at the frontage road, colliding with a 2016 Chevrolet Volt. The impact caused the Chevrolet to spin into a 2020 Mercedes-Benz, as reported by the police.
At the time of the accident, Mygal was a passenger in the Chevrolet, and she was rescued from the vehicle by firefighters who responded to the scene. She was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. The driver of the Chevrolet, a 35-year-old man, and a 4-year-old girl who was also in the vehicle sustained serious injuries.
The driver of the Mercedes, a 37-year-old woman, along with a 40-year-old male passenger, were hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Lastly, the driver of the Porsche suffered serious injuries in the crash. Authorities suspect that speed and alcohol may have been contributing factors, and criminal charges are anticipated.
