Kevin Esparza Obituary, Death; – A rollover pickup truck accident at the El Mirage Dry Lake over the weekend resulted in the death of an Orange County man, according to officials.

Kevin Esparza, 25, from Santa Ana, lost his life in the incident, which was initially reported just before 9 a.m. on Sunday at the well-known off-highway vehicle area, as per the California Highway Patrol and records from the San Bernardino County coroner.

He was operating a 2015 GMC Sierra pickup truck across the lake bed at an undetermined speed before the accident, CHP officials stated.
“As the GMC moved straight ahead, it collided with a dirt mound and became airborne,” the agency noted in a written statement. “Upon landing, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to begin overturning.”

The truck eventually came to a stop on its passenger side. Esparza, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle, officials reported. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The cause and circumstances surrounding the fatal accident are still under investigation. Any witnesses or individuals with information are encouraged to reach out to the CHP’s Victorville Area Office at (760) 241-1186.
