Melanie Degrazio Obituary, Death; – A pedestrian was hit and killed during the early morning of July 4 on Market Street in Wilmington.
Shortly before 12:30 a.m., Wilmington Police Department officers responded to a 911 call about a pedestrian hit by a car in the 4100 block of Market Street, the Wilmington Police Department said in a news release.
Officers arriving found Melanie Degrazio, 43, dead at the scene, the release said.
The release stated that the driver of the vehicle that struck Degrazio had been identified, but it did not name the driver or release whether the driver was in custody.
Wilmington Police Department Traffic Enforcement Unit officers are conducting an investigation into Degrazio’s death, the release states.
