Demetrius Trannon Obituary, Death; – The Birmingham Police Department has announced that a decision has been made concerning a homicide in the South East Lake area of the city.
At approximately midnight on June 23, officers were dispatched to Fifth Avenue South following reports of a disturbance. While en route, the nature of the call was escalated to a report of a shooting.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered Demetrius Trannon, aged 34, on the porch of a residence, suffering from a gunshot wound. The Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service also arrived and declared Trannon deceased at the scene.
Investigators indicated that their initial inquiry suggested that Trannon had been engaged in a confrontation with another individual, which resulted in the shooting.
On June 26, the police department stated that the district attorney’s office had reviewed the evidence and determined that the actions were justifiable. The case is now categorized as a justified death investigation.
