Prince Cureton Obituary, Death; – Police on Tuesday identified 32-year-old Prince Cureton as the man they said was gunned down Monday in front of a home near the intersection of Third Avenue and Sloan Street.
So far, there is no word on whether police have suspects in the killing. Police said they were summoned just before 1 a.m. for a reported shooting on Third Avenue near Sloan Street. When they arrived, officers discovered the victim had already been taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Officers found the man at the hospital with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was later pronounced dead. Police said they believe the man was standing in front of a home when he was shot. The department said it would not release the man’s name until his family was notified.
The killing is the city’s fourth homicide of the year.
