Paul Miguel Quiroz Obituary, Death; – A man who passed away days after being shot on Broadway in Sacramento has been identified.

Paul Miguel Quiroz, 26, from Sacramento, was shot at approximately 12:30 p.m. on June 1 in the 2800 block of Broadway and succumbed to his injuries three days later, as reported by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

Quiroz was transported to the hospital in critical condition immediately following the shooting, as previously reported by ABC10. Another victim of the shooting, a man in his 40s, sought medical attention at the hospital that same day for non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

Authorities stated that a Toyota Camry and a Nissan Armada were involved in the shooting. Both Quiroz and the other man were linked to the Toyota, while individuals in the Nissan were witnesses to the event but were not harmed, as per law enforcement. Kam Long, a local business owner, mentioned that she closed her shop after the shooting because she no longer felt safe.

Long arrived at her workplace at noon on June 1 and about 30 minutes later heard a loud noise that she initially thought was a car tire bursting during an accident, she recounted. She reported hearing four or five distinct pops. Officers closed 28th Street at Broadway for several hours to allow authorities to conduct their investigation.

Police have urged any witnesses with information related to this investigation to reach out to dispatch at 916-808-5471 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at 916-443-4357. Callers can remain anonymous; tips can also be submitted anonymously via the “P3 Tips” app.
