Timothy Cook Obituary, Death; – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) identified a man killed by a Memphis Police officer Friday night.
According to the TBI, 35-year-old Timothy Cook died in the shooting. The deadly altercation happened June 13, a day after Cook’s birthday. The TBI said that Cook died Monday.
That shooting happened at the intersection of Park Avenue and Grand Street. The TBI said Memphis officers approached a large group of people in the parking lot of a business. As an officer exited his squad car, state authorities said Cook drove his vehicle “aggressively toward the officer” and hit him.
Two other officers opened fire, striking Cook who continued to drive away before crashing into a nearby bus stop, the TBI said. The officer hit by the car suffered minor injuries.
