Izaiah Thor Rodriguez Obituary, Death; – The Kern County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the individual who was shot and killed on Stockdale Highway as 20-year-old Izaiah Thor Rodriguez.
On Thursday, June 13, 2025, at approximately 11:57 p.m., the Bakersfield Police Department received reports of an unspecified incident occurring in the 5600 block of Stockdale Highway. At the time of the call, officers were already in the vicinity and heard multiple gunshots emanating from that location. Upon their arrival, they observed a juvenile suspect fleeing the scene.
A man was discovered with a gunshot wound. The victim, later identified as Rodriguez, was transported to Kern Medical, where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities reported that a coordinated search of the Stockdale Highway area led to the apprehension of the juvenile suspect, identified as a teenage boy, who was taken into custody without any incidents.
A firearm, believed to have been utilized in the shooting, was also recovered from the scene. Police indicated that a witness to the incident successfully identified the suspect during an in-field lineup.
