Teresa Stitely Obituary, Death; – A person of interest has been identified in relation to a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a woman in Leon County late Sunday, and the vehicle involved has been found, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol.
The FHP did not disclose any additional information regarding the person of interest in its statement released on Thursday afternoon.
On Sunday, officials indicated that the vehicle suspected to be involved in the accident, which occurred near the intersection of Highway 20 and Jay Bird Lane late Sunday, was a white, older-model SUV. Since that time, the white SUV has been located, as stated in the FHP’s press release on Thursday. The incident on Sunday night resulted in the death of Teresa Stitely.
Cynthia Giddens and other residents of Fort Braden who were acquainted with Stitely remarked that “Ms. Teresa” frequently rode her bicycle along Highway 20. The residents noted that Ms. Teresa’s bicycle rides were a well-known aspect of life in Fort Braden. Currently, the FHP’s Traffic Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case.
