According to deputies from the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, they have apprehended 48-year-old Starshemah Jones after discovering the body of a man with burn injuries inside an apartment located in the 2100 block of Faraway Drive.

Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford verified the identity of the deceased man as 78-year-old Grant Ellison from Columbia on June 11. Deputies responded to the apartment complex at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, following reports of a suspicious death.
