Jose Calderon Obituary, Death;- The 21-year-old individual who was fatally shot early Saturday during his birthday celebration in Kent has been identified as Jose Calderon, as confirmed by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office and family members.
As previously reported, the deadly shooting took place after uninvited guests arrived at the party and became aggressive when asked to leave, according to relatives. One or more individuals then opened fire, hitting Calderon.
He was quickly transported to the hospital, where, unfortunately, he succumbed to a gunshot wound to his torso. “Jose was full of life, love, and hope for the future. He had his entire life ahead of him, and he was surrounded by individuals who cared deeply for him,” stated Jose’s sister, Tania Calderon, on a GoFundMe page established to assist with funeral expenses.
The Calderon family is now seeking assistance to repatriate Jose’s body to Mexico, where he will be interred alongside his parents. The GoFundMe campaign, titled Honoring Jose: A Birthday Tragedy, aims to raise funds for transportation and burial expenses.
As of Tuesday, no arrests have been made. The suspects fled the scene, and the Kent Police are actively pursuing their investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to reach out to Kent Police.
