Jovontae Carter Arrested; – The identity of the child who tragically passed away due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound has been disclosed.
The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office, in conjunction with the Evansville Police Department, is conducting an investigation into a fatal shooting that occurred on June 7. Following the incident, Jayvinvontae Keion-Ray Carter, aged 3, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
Jovontae Carter, the father of Jayvinvontae, has been arrested in connection with this incident. He is currently being held at the Vanderburgh County Jail.
Officials have stated that an autopsy was performed on June 9 at 9 a.m., and the results are still pending. The investigation by the Evansville Police Department is ongoing.
