Darlene Burrell,Cassandra Brown Obituary, Death; – On Friday morning, a tragic accident in Maryland resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including the driver of a bus operated by a senior assisted-living facility, as reported by state police.

The deceased driver, identified as Charlie Parker, 84, from Mechanicsville, Md., was involved in a head-on collision in Charles County. The other victims were passengers Darlene Burrell, 64, and Cassandra Brown, 61, both residents of Waldorf, Md. All three individuals succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the accident.

The incident took place shortly before 8 a.m. while the bus was traveling west on Port Tobacco Road, near Bowie Road. According to police, the bus lost control for reasons that remain unclear and subsequently collided with a dump truck traveling in the opposite direction. Fortunately, the driver of the dump truck did not sustain any injuries. Investigators have indicated that they do not believe driver impairment contributed to the crash.

Port Tobacco Road, also referred to as Route 5, features two lanes of traffic in that vicinity, with one lane designated for each direction, separated by a double yellow line. This location is situated approximately 40 miles south of the District. Authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the incident, and it remains uncertain whether the bus was carrying any additional passengers.
