Cooper Schuckman Obituary, Death; – A teenager from Washington tragically lost his life in an auto-repair incident on Saturday night.
As reported by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, dispatch received a call shortly after 9 p.m. regarding a male who was pinned under a vehicle near 2094 W 300 N in Washington.
Upon their arrival, authorities discovered a male trapped beneath a full-size Ford F350 truck. A nearby forklift was utilized to lift the vehicle in order to free the victim from underneath. The victim has been identified as 16-year-old Cooper Schuckman from Washington. His family has been informed of the incident.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Schuckman and a friend were engaged in work on the vehicle, which was elevated on two air jacks. While they were attempting to remove a part from the vehicle, the weight shifted, causing the vehicle to fall off the jacks and onto the victim.
The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department, the Daviess County Ambulance Service, and the Daviess County Coroner’s Office.
