Margarita Placido Obituary, Death; – A woman who was allegedly killed by her son inside an apartment complex on the Northwest Side has been identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman as 68-year-old Margarita Placido. She died from Traumatic Orbital Globe Avulsion, and her death was ruled a homicide.
Around 2:35 a.m. on May 27, 2025, police were dispatched to the 8800 block of Cinnamon Creek Drive after receiving several calls reporting a man yelling for help. According to San Antonio Police, when officers arrived, her son, 31-year-old James Austin Garcia, admitted to killing her and told officers her location inside the apartment.
Police said they found Placido lying on the floor with visible physical injuries and confirmed she was dead. Garcia was arrested at the scene and charged with Murder.
