Dale Crouse Obituary, Death; – An elderly man from Boone tragically lost his life in a vehicular accident on Highway 30.

As reported by the Boone County Communications Center, a two-vehicle personal injury incident occurred at approximately 8:23 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, at the intersection of Highway 30 and Montana Road, located on the southwest outskirts of Boone. Responding to the scene were deputies from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Boone Police, Iowa State Patrol, Boone Fire Department, and Boone County Hospital.

According to the sheriff’s office, a 17-year-old individual from Templeton was reportedly operating a 2006 Ford Mustang in an eastbound direction on Highway 30 when her vehicle collided with a 2003 Ford Ranger, which was being driven by 89-year-old Dale Crouse. The Iowa State Patrol indicated that Crouse failed to yield while attempting to cross the highway from the north on Montana Road.

Crouse was transported via ambulance from the scene but was subsequently pronounced dead at Boone County Hospital. The 17-year-old Mustang driver was evaluated by medical personnel at the scene and subsequently released. An investigation into the accident is currently being conducted by the Iowa State Patrol, as stated in the press release.
