Richard Curnett Obituary, Death; Police identify victim killed during domestic stabbing at south OKC homeless encampment

Richard Curnett Obituary, Death; – The search for a suspect continues after a man was fatally stabbed last week at a homeless encampment in south Oklahoma City.

Around 4:40 p.m. Friday, police responded to a stabbing at an encampment on Robinson Avenue near Southwest 15th Street. When officers arrived, they found a victim who had been stabbed to death.

The Oklahoma City Police Department identified the victim as 56-year-old Richard Curnett. An investigation identified the suspect as River Curnett, and a warrant for first-degree murder and domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon has been issued for his arrest.

Police said River Curnett fled the scene and was last seen in the area of OKC Will Rogers International Airport, trying to flee the state. Authorities have not said how River and Richard Curnett are related.
