Stephanie Barr Obituary, Death; – A man stabbed and killed a woman Saturday night near downtown Phoenix, according to Phoenix police. Police identified the victim as Stephanie Barr, 35.
Police said they were called to the area of Central Avenue and Watkins Street, south of Interstate 17, where they found Barr with a stab wound. She was taken to a hospital but did not survive, police said. Patrol officers searched the nearby area and found William Washington, 53, who was arrested.
Homicide detectives said Washington was in an argument with another man when he pulled a knife. Barr tried to separate the two and was stabbed by Washington during the altercation, according to authorities. Washington was booked into jail on suspicion of second-degree murder.
