Oliver Paul McConnell Obituary, Death; – Metro Nashville Police Department homicide detectives are currently looking into a confrontation that resulted in a man’s death over the weekend.
The MNPD has reported that an investigation is in progress regarding the death of a man following a fight on Church Street close to Printers Alley during the early hours of Saturday.
Authorities have identified the victim as 25-year-old Oliver Paul McConnell, a resident of Nashville. First responders arrived at the location and discovered McConnell unconscious. According to police, he was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center to receive treatment for a severe head injury.
The 25-year-old succumbed to his injuries at VUMC at some point over the weekend.
“The investigation thus far indicates that McConnell was engaged in a fight with two other individuals, who have been identified through witness statements and surveillance footage,” stated the MNPD. “Detectives have conducted interviews with them.”
An autopsy is scheduled to take place sometime this week. The MNPD has indicated that no charges have been filed at this moment as the investigation remains ongoing.
