Zacarius Berry Obituary, Death; – A 15-year-old has lost his life following a shooting incident that prompted a response from Precinct Three officers behind a residence on James Garfield Circle.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered a victim who had succumbed to what appeared to be gunshot wounds. As stated by Precinct 3 Captain Jacquelyn Thomas, the deceased has been identified as Zacarius Berry, aged 15. Authorities report that Berry resided in the vicinity, although he did not live at the location where he was found.
The Jackson Police Department (JPD) has informed us that Berry sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Currently, there is no information available regarding a motive or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Berry was a middle school student and was expected to graduate today. Neighbors have informed WLBT that his teacher visited to present him with his graduation certificate, only to be confronted with the tragic news of his shooting and subsequent death.
