Charles Williamson Obituary, Death; – The Delaware State Police have identified a 19-year-old man from Dagsboro who lost his life in a two-vehicle collision near Hollyville earlier this week.
The accident took place at approximately 5:15 p.m. on May 20, according to police reports. At that time, Charles Williamson was operating a Lincoln sedan traveling west on Hollyville Road, close to Harmons Hill Road. Meanwhile, a 52-year-old man from Dagsboro was driving a Cadillac SUV in the opposite direction.
Police stated, “For reasons still under investigation,” Williamson veered into the opposing lane, directly into the path of the SUV. The 52-year-old driver attempted to maneuver away from the impending collision; however, Williamson’s vehicle struck the front of the SUV, as reported by the police. Williamson, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where he subsequently passed away.
The driver of the SUV, along with his 56-year-old passenger, was also taken to the hospital, suffering from injuries that were not life-threatening.
