Landon Harris,Jarrett Hawkins Obituary, Death; – The Texas Department of Public Safety is conducting an investigation into a tragic accident that resulted in the deaths of a Lorena teenager and two other individuals on Tuesday, May 20, just days prior to graduation.
Troopers arrived at the scene of a two-vehicle collision at 7 a.m. on US Highway 77, located just south of the Milam County border. Preliminary reports indicate that a Toyota Tacoma was heading south on US 77 when it crossed into the northbound lane and struck a Dodge Ram. Unfortunately, all three individuals involved were pronounced dead at the scene.
The victims have been identified as 18-year-old Landon Harris and 36-year-old Jarrett Hawkins, both occupants of the Tacoma, along with 49-year-old Daniel Phillips, the driver of the Dodge Ram. Authorities have confirmed that notifications to the next of kin have been completed for all three victims. A GoFundMe campaign has been established for the Harris family, which has already raised over $36,000.
