Natasha Thoits Obituary, Death; –A woman from Maine has lost her life following a vehicle collision with a residence in Lewiston, which also resulted in injuries to two other individuals, as reported by law enforcement.

The Lewiston Police Department indicated that officers were dispatched to the scene of a serious accident at 816 Webster St. shortly after 4:15 a.m. on Wednesday. Upon arrival, they discovered a 2017 BMW had crashed into a single-family home at that location. Authorities reported that several individuals were trapped inside the vehicle and required extraction by emergency responders.

Natasha Thoits, 28, of Lewiston, was declared deceased at the scene after being extricated from the vehicle, where she was a passenger. Blaze Small, 25, also from Lewiston, was identified as the driver and sustained minor injuries in the incident. Another passenger, whose identity has not been disclosed, was taken to Central Maine Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police noted that a fourth occupant of the vehicle fled the scene on foot prior to the arrival of officers. The Accident Reconstruction Team of the Lewiston Police Department is currently investigating the incident. Initial findings suggest that both speed and impairment may have played a role in the crash.

Authorities will provide further updates as the investigation progresses. Anyone with information regarding the individual who fled the scene, described as male, is encouraged to contact Detective Aaron Schmitz via email at aschmitz@lewistonmaine.gov.
