Dylan Wallace Obituary, Death; – A young firefighter, set to graduate in June 2025 with the Prescott Fire Department, tragically lost his life in a paragliding accident, as reported by the Prescott Fire Department.
Dylan Wallace, aged 27, was identified on May 19 as the individual who perished in the off-duty incident that occurred on May 16, according to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office. Emergency responders were dispatched to a wildland fire near Lakeshore Drive and Fain Road in Prescott Valley, only to discover that the fire had been ignited by a paraglider, which was piloted by Wallace and subsequently crashed.
Upon the arrival of the crews at approximately 7:45 a.m., they found that the fire had already been contained to a limited area, was no longer spreading, and was extinguished. Wallace was discovered deceased at the scene, prompting the Sheriff’s Office to assume control of the investigation.
Holger Durre, chief of the Prescott Fire Department, expressed, ‘We extend our deepest sympathies to Dylan’s family, friends, fellow recruits, and all whose lives he touched and who cared for him. This is a deeply painful time for many, and our thoughts are with those affected by this loss.’ Wallace was a recruit firefighter and a participant in the Prescott/Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority Joint Fire Academy, as confirmed by the Prescott Fire Department.
The Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority also conveyed their condolences in a Facebook post, stating, ‘Our deepest condolences go out to Dylan’s family, friends, fellow recruits, and all who knew and cared for him. We stand with our brothers and sisters at Prescott Fire during this difficult time.’
