Joseph DaSilva,Samuel Oliveira Obituary, Death; – The North Charleston Police have apprehended an individual in connection with a tragic accident in August that resulted in the deaths of two teenagers.

According to Police spokesman Harve Jacobs, “Following a comprehensive investigation, our Traffic Unit executed arrest warrants for 29-year-old Ashner Nelson related to the double fatality incident that occurred on August 8 at the intersection of Patriot Boulevard and Club Course Drive.”

The deceased have been identified as 17-year-old Joseph DaSilva from Goose Creek and 17-year-old Samuel Oliveira from Summerville, both of whom were pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.

Harve Jacobs, the Public Information Officer for the North Charleston Police Department, confirmed that the accident took place on August 8. Dorchester County Coroner Paul Brouthers reported that the collision occurred when the teenagers were in a vehicle attempting to make a left turn onto Patriot Boulevard from Club Course Drive, where they were struck on the driver’s side by another vehicle traveling on Patriot.

Officers arrived at the intersection of Patriot Boulevard and Club Course Drive at approximately 11:15 p.m. on the night of August 8. Upon their arrival, they discovered two fatalities and one individual with critical injuries. Jacobs noted that the injured party, now identified as Nelson, was transported to the hospital for medical care.

Nelson reportedly remained hospitalized until Friday, at which time she was charged with two counts of reckless homicide. She has since been booked into the Dorchester County Jail, although a booking photograph for Nelson was not immediately available.
