Charles Collins Obituary, Death;- The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police have initiated a homicide investigation following the death of a man who was hit by a vehicle during an alleged robbery on the city’s south side last week. On May 15, officers responded shortly after 11:30 p.m. to the 8000 block of Madison Avenue regarding a reported robbery involving an injury.
Upon arrival, the officers found an adult male, identified in a public police report as 62-year-old Charles Collins, who had been struck by a vehicle. The victim was initially taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition, but he succumbed to his injuries two days later. Subsequent investigations led the Marion County Coroner’s Office to classify the incident as a homicide, and the IMPD’s Homicide Unit is now overseeing the case.
