William West,Christopher Powell Obituary, Death; – The identities of all three individuals who perished in a devastating collision between Calhoun and Adairsville have been confirmed by the Gordon County Coroner’s Office to Local 3 News. William West, aged 50, from Lafayette, and Christopher Powell, aged 23, from Okeechobee, Florida, were among the deceased.
The identity of a third victim will remain undisclosed until their family has been notified. Gordon County Coroner Nick Blalock stated, ‘The Gordon County Coroner’s Office will continue to assist the Georgia State Patrol as the investigation progresses.’ The incident, which involved six vehicles, took place on Tuesday, May 14, when a northbound tractor-trailer crossed the median into oncoming traffic after colliding with a Hyundai Sonata. This semi subsequently collided head-on with two additional tractor-trailers and two passenger cars. All lanes have since been reopened following the incident.
